Wedge wire screen, also named Johnson screen, wedge wire flat screens, or wedge wire panels, are manufactured with surface profiles and support profiles. The wedge wire is welded onto support rods at each intersection in a 90-degree configuration.

The wedge-shaped tube is made during the process of simultaneously winding a specially formed working line on a spiral and welding them to a load line placed along the tube. This technology allows production of wedge screens with very high gap precision and shielding resistance.
