Architectural Design: Work with architects/engineers to determine the mesh pattern, panel size, and support structure.
Material Selection: Choose the right aluminum alloy (typically AA3003 or AA5052 for corrosion resistance) and mesh type (standard, flattened, or decorative).
Load & Wind Calculations: Ensure the structure can handle wind loads, especially for high-rise buildings.
Mounting System: Decide between clamp systems, brackets, or frame supports based on the facade design.
Mesh Panels: Cut expanded aluminum sheets to size (either pre-cut or on-site).
Support Frame: Fabricate aluminum or steel substructure (mullions, transoms, or custom brackets).
Fasteners: Use stainless steel or aluminum rivets, screws, or clips to avoid galvanic corrosion.
Marking & Layout:
Use a laser level to mark fixing points on the building's wall or primary structure.
Ensure proper alignment for vertical/horizontal mesh panels.
Mounting the Support Frame:
Install vertical mullions (primary supports) and horizontal transoms (secondary supports).
Use anchor bolts or welded connections (for steel frames).
Check for plumb and level.
Positioning the Mesh:
Lift and place the expanded mesh panels onto the support frame.
Use temporary fixings (clamps or straps) to hold panels in place.
Securing the Mesh:
Attach panels using T-bolts, clips, or rivets (avoid over-tightening to prevent deformation).
For tensioned mesh, use a turnbuckle system to ensure even stretching.
Panel Joints & Gaps:
Leave expansion gaps (3–5mm) between panels to allow for thermal movement.
Use splice plates for seamless alignment.
Edge Trimming: Cut any excess mesh for a clean finish.
Corner & Edge Details: Install corner caps or trim for a polished look.
Surface Protection: Apply PVDF coating or anodizing (if not pre-finished) for extra durability.
Structural Integrity: Ensure all fasteners are secure and the mesh doesn't vibrate excessively.
Wind Load Test: Verify deflection limits under wind pressure.
Corrosion Protection: Check for proper isolation between aluminum and dissimilar metals.
Aesthetic Inspection: Ensure consistent panel alignment and finish.
Cleaning: Use mild detergent + water (avoid abrasive tools).
Inspection: Check for loose fasteners or corrosion annually.
